Situation of the country house: The island Neuwerk belongs to Hamburg and is placed in the National park "Hamburgisches Wattenmeer".
At high tide you can get
there in about 1 ½ hours from Cuxhaven on the ship "MS Flipper" or at low tide in about 2 hours from Sahlenburg on foot or in about 1 hour with a special horse-drawn carriage. The country house is on a lttle hill near the lighthouse, which was built in 1310.

Rooms: there are 54 beds, one kitchen and also one room for washing-up, a larder, a big dining room, a day room with seats and a table-tennis table as well as a wash-room with toilets and a shower room. You can bring food for yourself without problems or order it in Cuxhaven. It is delivered by ship.

If you order food during your stay you will have to call for it with a handcart at the quai. Anyway you can get fresh milk on the island every day. You can go there from April until October. The luggage is brought from the quai to the country house free from charge by tractor. The "Schullandheim Neuwerk am Turm" has no staff. The groups can shape their stay freely and keep house on their own. For the kitchen and the cleaning you have to bring three to four persons. The staff, who works in the kitchen must have a certificate of health.

Game, Sport and Adventure (possibilitis):
The Live on the Island depends on the tide. At low tide you can walk and study mud-flats. At high tide you can swim without danger. In a field, which is 300 meters behind the dike 150 meters behind the frontdike you have the possibility to play ballgames. There is a crazy golfcourt and from the tower you have got a excellent visibility over the mud-flat and to the mainland.
